RS / NC

RS / NC

Design

  • RS / NC – xxx/xxx S standard design with bevel gear for connecting motor shaft to worm shaft on tilting axis.
  • RS / NC – xx/xxx K compact, space saving design with timing belts for connecting the motor shaft to the worm shaft on rotation and tilting axis.
  • RS / NC – xxx/xxx L design without counter support for light operational forces and increased tilting range.
  • RSM – xxx/xxx tilting axis manually operated with micrometer dial.
  • RSMS – xxx with hand operated mechanical clamping system of the tilting axis.
  • Custom made designs to suit special requirements, also with increased tilting range.

Characteristics

The tilting dividing unit type RS / NC is specially designed for machine tools and machining centers.  By using CNC precision dividing units type RW / NC as tilting and rotating axis, it is possible to meet different customers requirements.

  • Highly compatible with customer’s motor and feedback system for easy interfacing with existing machine control.
  • High machining efficiency is possible through built in centric hydraulic clamping bushings on rotating and tilting axis.  The necessary hydraulic clamping pressure can be supplied either by machine unit hydraulics, a separate hydraulic unit or by a pneumatic / hydraulic pressure booster.
  • For additional increased clamping moment on tilting axis a trunnion with built in clamping bushing is available.
  • Heavy duty worm gear on tilting and rotation axis, including backlash adjustment.
  • Indexing spindle with cylindrical through bore and with external cylindrical centering for workpiece holders.
  • Compact, space saving design with face plates or jaw chucks available up to 250 mm in diameter.
  • Fast and accurate positioning of indexing spindle in rotation and tilting axis.
  • Low maintenance due to lifetime lubrication for worm gearing.
  • Attractive price / performance ratio.

  Electrical Connections

To interface the tilting dividing unit to a machine control, there are the following choices.

  • 4th and / or 5th axis with existing CNC machine control.
  • Rotation axis as 4th axis with existing CNC machine control, tilting axis manually controlled with micrometer dial.
  • With separate programmable two axis CNC controller CPS – 300.  “M” code from machine control for triggering indexing program in CPS – 300 is required.
  • Stand alone version with two axis CNC controller CPS – 300 and separate pneumatic / hydraulic booster for independent applications on CNC – or any other machine tools.
  • Stand alone version with single axis CNC controller CPS – 20 and separate hydraulic power pack HC – 22 or pneumatic / hydraulic booster for independent applications on CNC – or any other machine tools.  Tilting axis manually controlled with micrometer dial.

  Options

  • Indexing spindle as option available with external short taper KK, Morse taper MT, ISO taper SK or hollow shank taper HSK.
  • Rotary encoders mounted as direct feedback system for increased indexing accuracies on tilting and rotation axis.
  • Rotation axis available with up to four indexing spindles on a single worm shaft.
  • Face plates with diameters 80, 100, 150, 200 and 250 mm.
  • Three or four jaw chuck with intermediate flange for direct mounting to indexing spindle, diameters: 80, 100, 125, 160, 200 and 250 mm, as option power operated.
  • Collet chucks type ER25, ER32 and ER40, manually operated, as option power operated.
  • Motor mounts according to customer’s design.
  • Motor for rotation and tilting axis with timing belt for space saving design.
  • Available without hydraulic clamping bushings for applications not exerting machining force.
  • Positive compressed air pressure inlet for increased protection against ingression of cooling liquids.
